Exterior Retail Car Park Lighting

Monday, November 30th, 2009

ASDA Glasgow

The external car park lighting at this ASDA store car park in Glasgow is similar to numerous Retail stores across the UK and Ireland including Tesco, Morrisons,  Safeways, LIDL, etc.

The wide spacings between Poles has resulted in large savings in Poles, Luminaires and  underground wiring, trenching, etc.  Car park lighting levels with retail chains are typically 20 Lux average with a minimum of 10 Lux.  Typically, only 4 Luminaires/Poles are needed to illuminate an area of 100m by 100m, resulting in very competitive capital costs.

Other than the attractive Project costs, there are other advantages such as energy saving, maintenance, long life lamps, the ability to use dimming as low peak hours, and the option to add to extend lamp life to 60,000 hours average (ie. longer than LED).

VeeLite also offer an equivalent, but architectural Luminaire which provides similar light levels.

Low Bay Warehouse Lighting

Logistik Centre Berlin

Warehouse lighting in this busy warehouse in Berlin was achieved with WideBay  luminaires.   These Luminaires provide high quality white  light  and can be spaced at wide intervals, without compromising the uniformity of the warehouse lighting achieved.  Because they are suitable for mounting heights between 5m and 10m, they are suitable for both High Bay lighting and Low Bay lighting applications.

The deep acrylic lens provides extra illumination on Vertical surfaces, ideal for Warehouses.  Lamp life is typically over 20,000 hours so relamping is rare and maintenance is minimal, an important consideration in busy warehouses to avoid disruption.

The WideBay is ideal for Energy saving lighting and in many cases, a reduction of 50% in energy load can be achieved by using these Luminaires instead of standard High Bay lighting.

The Luminaire has extra safety features including an acrylic lens (necessary for the Food Industry for example), protected lamp, dust-tight optics and optional dust-tight Ballast Housing.

Factory buildings have a higher than normal reliance on machinery and technologies and usually have high maintenance costs. A balance needs to be found between efficient factory lighting and the best luminary levels for productivity. (more…)

Helix

Five Architectural Features in the form of  bespoke lighting ‘Specials’ were manufactured to order for the Helix Theatre at Dublin City University.

Designed by Architects A&D Wejchert to compliment the Building, the conical columns were supplied with conical Luminaires, all in Stainless Steel.  The luminaire is IP65 rated and with an efficient reflector system.  The columns have removable brackets and banners.

VeeLite have supplied numerous individual lighting Specials over the years, mainly for architectural external lighting projects.
